Mr. Avinash Phagoo

Avinash Phagoo is a committed community advocate and grassroots leader dedicated to service, unity, and sustainable development. His involvement with the Penal Rock Road Village Council, the Penal Debe Chamber of Commerce, the Penal Debe Foundation, the Transformers Youth Group, and various cultural and NGO bodies reflects his deep commitment to strengthening community networks, supporting vulnerable groups, and empowering residents at every level. His leadership is people-centered, collaborative, and grounded in years of hands-on engagement with youth, cultural organizations, and small businesses.

Professionally, Avinash is an experienced photographer, videographer, and creative entrepreneur with over twelve years in local and international content production. As the Director of Paria Productions Studio Ltd., he uses storytelling and visual communication to highlight community issues, cultural identity, and positive change. His creative work complements his advocacy, allowing him to elevate community voices and drive awareness through impactful media.

Academically, he holds a Master of Arts in Creative Design: Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies and Film Production from the University of the West Indies. Since 2023, he has also served as an Alderman at the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation, where he continues to champion participatory governance and community-driven progress. Avinash remains guided by his belief in collective responsibility, youth empowerment, and the power of communities to shape their own future.
