Media Release – An estimated 4,000 Pounds of Waste Removed from Port of Spain Foreshore During 2026 ICC

The spirit of environmental stewardship was on full display on Saturday 12 September 2026, as approximately 240 volunteers gathered along the Foreshore, Audrey Jeffers Highway, Port of Spain, for the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), the world’s largest volunteer coastal cleanup effort. Together, volunteers removed an estimated 4,000 pounds of garbage from the coastline, comprising 1,200 pounds of plastic, 130 pounds of glass and 2,600 pounds of miscellaneous waste, including tyres, metals and other discarded materials.
