ExxonMobil Trinidad and Tobago Deepwater Limited (ExxonMobil) recently met with the Environmental
Management Authority (EMA) to continue discussions focused on strengthening collaboration and
exploring opportunities to support national development. The meeting followed the EMA’s issuance of a
Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) for ExxonMobil to conduct a three-dimensional seismic
survey covering approximately 8,825 square kilometres in Block TTUD-1, located off the east coast of
Trinidad. The EMA, a body corporate under the Ministry of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development
(MPEAD), formally presented the CEC during a press conference held at the MPEAD’s head office on
December 29, 2025.
