Media Release – New Educational Video on Water Quality Testing Launched for Secondary School Students

The Environmental Management Authority (EMA), in collaboration with the National Institute for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA), and the Ministry of Education (MoE), officially launched the Water Quality Testing Video, a key educational resource developed for Secondary School students.

The launch brought together representatives from partner agencies, educators, and environmental professionals in support of advancing environmental education and strengthening scientific awareness among students. Delivering remarks at the event, the EMA’s Deputy Chairman, Ms. Neeala Mongroo emphasised the critical importance of water as a resource that “sustains our health, supports ecosystems, rives economic activity, and directly impacts the quality of life within our communities”. Ms. Mongroo stressed the importance of the video as “an important initiative designed to empower individuals, particularly our secondary school students, with the knowledge and tools needed to understand, monitor, and protect one of our most precious natural resources for present and future generations”.
