Media Release – Driving sustainable development through partnership, leadership and guidance

Strengthening the ease of doing business while safeguarding the environment remains a priority for the Environmental Management Authority (EMA).

In keeping with this commitment, EMA Chairman Doolar Ramlal, supported by Acting Managing Director Vidjaya Ramkhalawan, Sally Maharaj, Manager – Technical Services (Ag.), Tracey Oliveira-Harris, Environmental Programme Officer III and Suelan Chin, Environmental Programme Officer II, led a high-level meeting with representatives of Caddell Construction, the company responsible for overseeing the construction of the United States Embassy to advance review of an application for the development of a potable water well within the project site in Maraval. Representatives from Caddell Construction, included Steve Leighton, Nezih Eser and Hamadou Gouem, as well as Randy Ragbir of Integral Consulting Limited.

The engagement focused on providing clear technical guidance, addressing potential challenges early, and supporting the Applicant in meeting regulatory requirements efficiently.

This proactive, service-oriented approach reflects the EMA’s role in facilitating sustainable development across Trinidad and Tobago, ensuring that projects move forward responsibly, efficiently, and in alignment with sound environmental management practices.
