This morning we’re joined by representatives Neeala Mongroo (Deputy Chairman) Vidjaya Ramkhalawan (Manager of Permitting) and Christopher Ward, (Regional Coordinator of Permit Monitoring and Complaints) from the Environmental Management Authority to discuss new noise control measures for the 2026 Carnival season, as well as improvements to public access to information through the EMA’s website. With carnival events increasing and all the concerns from residents about excessive noise over the years, the authority has rolled out updated monitoring and enforcement strategies aimed at balancing cultural celebration with of course community well-being.
