Media Release – The EMA’s Board of Directors strengthens collaboration with the THA to advance environmental priorities in Tobago

The Environmental Management Authority’s Board of Directors chaired by Mr. Doolar Ramlal recently initiated a meeting with the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), led by the Honourable Farley Augustine, Chief Secretary of the THA, focused on advancing Tobago’s key environmental priorities. The meeting centred on streamlining regulatory processes, addressing major development projects, and strengthening inter-agency collaboration.

A significant outcome of the discussions was the proposal to introduce pre-application meetings as part of the Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) submission process. This step is intended to enhance efficiency, reduce processing delays, and ensure greater clarity for applicants from the outset.
