The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) was proud to be associated with the launch of the Clean-Up & Beautify Trinidad and Tobago (C&B T&T) exercise on Saturday June 12, 2010.

C&B T&T is an initiative from the Honourable Prime Minister, Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar. As part of this campaign, the staff of the EMA came together to clean a mangrove wetland area which exists on the fringe of the Caroni Swamp, off Cacandee Road, Felicity.

This area was chosen due to its environmental significance as the Caroni Swamp is an ecologically sensitive area. The area is also culturally significant as it borders the Lakhan Karriah cremation site and it is economically significant as the community is very involved in fishing.
