In its continued effort to improve the quality of Trinidad and Tobago's waters, the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) this year began issuing Water Pollution Permits (WPPs) to facilities whose effluent contain pollutants outside the levels permitted in the Second Schedule of the Water Pollution Rules, 2001 as amended (WPR). For the month of December, 2009, WPPs have been issued to CGA Limited, the Vehicle Management Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago and Trinidad Distillers Limited (Angostura), all of which operate in the East Port of Spain/Beetham area.
